We are now in Week 6! Time to finish up on the wheel and explore some new handbuilding for week 7! Try the extruder or oe of our workshop templates. I'm adding 2 OS to the Holiday break for those of you that didnt make classes or that missed any OS. I'll allow trimming and finishing up any Handbuilding projects that week. We return on January 6th for glazing!
Fall students - You will have 2 weeks into the new session to complete your glazing. We are in week 6 (last wheel throwing). Next week, the last hand-building is in your class. Use Open Studios for glazing. We will run the kilns as they fill up!

Please let us know ASAP if you are not in class and want a make-up. Make-ups must be scheduled and taken before week 8. You may not carry over Open Studios or classes past the session end date.
All greenware must be on the to-be-fired shelf at the end of your 7th week class. No exceptions or carryovers.
We have an Open Studio QR code for sign-in. It's on the front desk upstairs and the cubby in the Clay Nook vestibule.
All clay should be QR scanned to help us track inventory.

We are accepting Open Studio Membership requests for the Clay Nook on the ground floor!
Open Studio - Please make sure you leave 20 minutes for cleanup and that you end on the scheduled time. Be respectful of how much space you take up. Be careful when placing your work on a class shelf. Check in and OUT with the monitor. Clean everything including tables and the back area: sinks, floor, and glazing area. MOP ALL AREAS YOU WERE WORKING IN ~ EVERY TIME! Follow all cleanup guidelines below.
Cleanup. Wipe down everything with clean water: wheels, pans, floors, tables including the black frame, sinks, glaze buckets, benches, and glaze floor area, glaze benches. each class must mop the studio in totality.
Clay buckets and scraps of clay. The left and middle sink is for water only. Take out all of the clay scrap and put in you reclaim bucket. We cannot reclaim your clay. Please don't randomly leave buckets on the floor.
Vaccuuming for trimmings. we are implementing vacuuming for trimming. This keeps the studio cleaner and is easier. Both studios have hepa filter vacuums. Please follow with a mop.
Leather hard clay that you want to scrap? See us to learn reclaiming your own clay! Do not leave dried pots in any of our reclaim. See your instructor.
White clay. We have white clay tools, bats, boards, and wedging table all stored around the wedging table. BMIX, 240 and porcelain only. Please wash the bats and put them back under the white wedging table.
Specialty clay like BB and white clays are your responsibility to reclaim. Ask for directions. Red clay is not available to students.
Do not remove any tools or wareboards or other studio owned property from the studio.
Refer to the maker's rule on the wall before you make large pieces. We will not fire oversize pieces if not approved prior. Remember, this is a community kiln.
Please remember that no one is allowed in the kiln room except for instructors and techs. Please -- this is for your safety and the safety of everyone's work.
no outside clay is permitted. Ever. any kiln damage as a result of outside clay or altered clay will be billed to you. This is nonnegotiable.
We offer up to 25 lbs of clay for students included with an option to purchase an additional 25 lbs. we distribut clay in 1/2 bags of 12.5 lbs. No new clay is given after week 6.
We reserve the right te refuse clay items made at home. This session is intended for work made in the studio.
Christmas ornaments is limited to 12 per person each session.
