and Flex Open Studio
Membership at our studio is more than just a place to go. It's an independent working space where you grow and share with other potters. We cherish the serenity that an open, inclusive community brings.
As a member, you'll enjoy:
Using the studio on your time! We have built-in open studio hours, but you can use your own key fob to work when it suits you! Parking is onsite. Please respect class hours.
Your own 60x12 member shelf
25 lbs clay + bisque and glaze firing for that clay per month (standard 553 Buff or studio clay included, or upgrade to Laguna BMIX5, Kentucky Mudworks brown bear, or Standard 112 Speckled clay for an additional charge). Firing fees apply to items over 9".
Class tuition early notice and member pricing is 20% less for 8-week or longer classes, and for some artist technique workshops.
Member-share events. Please sign up to be the member leader in one of these shares!
Opportunity to have your goods in all studio gallery and sales events. (30% commission goes back to the studio for fees, taxes, advertising, etc.)
Next steps to membership
Because our studio offers such a variety of equipment and the ceramics process can be challenging, we ask our potential members to either:
complete the membership application form
and have completed one of our 8-week classes
OR
complete the inquiry form and spend 3 orientation sessions with us.
Every studio operates differently, and we want to be sure each member is at an independent working level and understands our studio protocols around equipment, glazing, clean studio, and reclaim clay processes.
As you complete the membership form, please also state:
your comfort with being available to help others
availability to take on simple studio tasks like pugging, gallery sales, and help during student open studio time to field questions or reassure others
any special skills you're interested in sharing with others through hosting a member share session.
Studio membership is $175/month with a 6-month commitment. Multiple payment options are available. Membership is renewable quarterly after the first 6 months.
Members agree to follow studio rules, which will be provided, and support our community environment.
*Clay must be purchased from the studio, and all additional clay includes bisque and glaze firing to cone 5-6. We are not a production studio; please respect our community.
