Who? Teens (16+) and adults – all levels including New to Clay
When? Saturday September 6th and 13th 1 - 4 pm in The Nook.
This isn't your average clay project! In this 2-week, 6-hour series, you'll create your own geometric, frameable slab art about 8' x 10' using stamping, imprinting, geometric designs, glass, found objects, oxides, underglazes, engobes, and household items. Discover new textures and explore bold surface designs!
Who? Teens (16+) and adults – all levels including New to Clay
When? September 11th and 14th
Linda is a local artist who has mastered using the Cricut to create digital designs and stencils for her pottery. Her work is fun and looks so complex and custom! If you've ever wanted to have crisp designs, personalized monograms, collaging or make custom brand work, this is your class. Don't have a Cricut? After the workshop, explore file processing at the Kennett Library Maker's Center.
Who? Teens (16+) and adults – strong beginner and intermediate potters who are looking to improve their wheel skills through a concentrated program on hand placement.
When? Friday afternoons this fall. Each 3 session class is it's own course. This class comes with weekly Open Studio. Clay is purchased separately.
Where? In the Clay Nook, This space is not ADA compliant, there are 3 steps
Bootcamp I: Wheel Mechanics - September 19th, 26th and October 3rd.
If you're not moving forward with wheel and need to evaluate why you're stuck, this is for you. Examine hand placement and throwing fundamentals while getting insights on where you can make changes with results. The goal of this course is to learn what you're currently doing that isn't working and introduce new throwing techniques.
Bootcamp II: Find your voice, Design with Intent - When October 10th, 17th, and 24th
Learn the value of intentional design for a body of work. Explore differnt surface treatments and shapes that can evolve regardless of the form. Great for those who say " The clay tells me what to make" and want to break that pattern. Leads up to the tableware bootcamp!
Bootcamp III: Tableware for Two
When: October 31, November 7th and 14th, 12 - 3 pm
Develop a body of work by creating a tableware collection for 2 place settings incorporating a design throughout. (There is an option to create 2 additional place settings see registration.)

Bootcamp includes: Three 3-hour workshop sessions, 3 Open Studios, bisc and glaze firings. Clay is not included, students purchase clay separately. Bringing your own bats is recommended if you cannot attend Open Studio in between sessions.

Explore Surface Design with Underglaze Transfer Collaging
Who? Teens (16+) and adults with some basic pottery skills. those who kno how to throw can make 2 pieces on the wheel. Don't know how to Throw? no Problem, we will instruct in handbuilding with slabs day 1.
When? Loof for this in Late September and October.

We are an Elan Transfer retailer becuase I love these products (and their team). Building on our popular 1.2 day workshop, I've crafted a 2 day workshop.
Day 1; create your pieces on either the wheel or using handbuilding while we talk design and select your transfers. The next week, come back for collaging and layering the underglaze transfers with underglazes, adding in sgraffito or carving or stamping details.
